Objetivo: The J. Gonda Fund Foundation supports students, researchers and publishers involved in the study of Sanskrit, other classical Indian languages, and Indian literature and cultural history. Since 1992, the Foundation has funded projects, fellowships and scholarly publications and re-issues of existing works. It also organises and publishes the annual Gonda Lecture. The Foundation’s assets consist of the estate of Indologist Jan Gonda, who was a member of the Academy.

Objetivo: Research Grants of up to $2,500 are awarded twice annually to offset the cost of conducting research at the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum. Objetivo: The Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research GIARlogo(GIAR) program has provided undergraduate and graduate students with valuable educational experiences since 1922. By encouraging close working relationships between students and mentors, the program promotes scientific excellence and achievement through hands-on learning. The program awards grants of up to $1,000 to students from all areas of the sciences and engineering. Designated funds from the National Academy of Sciences allow for grants of up to $5,000 for astronomy research and $2,500 for vision related research. Students use the funding to pay for travel expenses to and from a research site, or for purchase of non-standard laboratory equipment necessary to complete a specific research project.
