Objetivo: To encourage applications from the scientific community to support outstanding research in the area of oocyte mitochondrial function in relation to fertility, aging, and mitochondrial disease transmission to offspring. The overarching goal is to gain fundamental insight into the role of mitochondria and long-term consequences of their dysfunction in the oocyte, and to develop therapeutic or alternative approaches to treat mitochondrial dysfunction for improving oocyte quality and competency, and health of the resultant offspring.

Objetivo: The purpose of this initiative is to stimulate research in promoting caregiver health using self-management.  Caregiving is an important science area since the number of people living longer with chronic conditions is growing.  Informal caregivers (lay caregivers) are defined as unpaid individuals (spouses, partners, family members, friends, or neighbors) involved in assisting others with activities of daily living and/or medical tasks.  Formal caregivers are paid, delivering care in one’s home or care settings (daycare, residential care facility).  This concept focuses on informal caregivers.
