Objetivo: To support impactful projects that – through education or storytelling – seek to increase understanding of and acceptance of migrants and migrant communities. Types of human migrations include (but are not limited to) nomadic communities, refugees of all kinds, migrant labor, victims of human trafficking, and people exploring the planet and beyond. Priority will be given to projects that aim to do one or more of the following through education or storytelling: document the causes and effects of one or more examples of present-day human migration; document the lives of present-day migrants, their journeys, and receiving communities; develop and test out classroom resources, curricula, or public outreach materials that aim to increase understanding of the migrant experience and acceptance of  migrant communities.

Objetivo: The Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research GIARlogo(GIAR) program has provided undergraduate and graduate students with valuable educational experiences since 1922. By encouraging close working relationships between students and mentors, the program promotes scientific excellence and achievement through hands-on learning. The program awards grants of up to $1,000 to students from all areas of the sciences and engineering. Designated funds from the National Academy of Sciences allow for grants of up to $5,000 for astronomy research and $2,500 for vision related research. Students use the funding to pay for travel expenses to and from a research site, or for purchase of non-standard laboratory equipment necessary to complete a specific research project.

Objetivo: The small exploratory research grant is intended to be for “high-risk, high reward” projects. These are for ideas that may not pan out, but have sound theoretical basis. This grant is designed specifically for new investigators who have a preliminary concept they would like to develop into a research project. Objetivo: Through an international competition, the Center offers 9-month residential fellowships. The Wilson Center invites scholars, practitioners, journalists and public intellectuals to take part in its flagship international Fellowship Program. Objetivo: Jack Kimmel grants provide much needed funding to arboriculture and urban forestry researchers all over the world. These grants are available to researchers whose work is primarily outside of the United States. Projects are expected to be completed within one to two years. Objetivo: The Denver X-ray Conference Organizing Committee established the Jenkins Award in 2001 to recognize scientists who exhibit lifetime achievement in the advancement of the use of X-rays in materials analysis. This award is named in honor of Dr. Ron Jenkins for his career of dedication to the advancement of analytical X-rays, characterized by his diverse roles as practical analyst, applications specialist, author of landmark texts, educator, Executive Director of the ICDD, and member of the Denver X-ray Conference Organizing Committee.
