Objetivo: NORD, with funding from the Kate Obstgarten Family Foundation, Lundbeck, and public donations, is accepting applications for a total of $30,000, for scientific and/or clinical research studies related to cat eye syndrome (CES). CES is a rare chromosomal disorder in which the short arm and a small region of the long arm of chromosome 22 (22pter-22q11) are present four times (partial tetrasomy) rather than twice in cells of the body. In a small number of people with CES, the 22q11 region is present in three copies (partial trisomy).

COVID-19

Objetivo: Mozilla is announcing today the creation of a COVID-19 Solutions Fund as part of the Mozilla Open Source Support Program (MOSS). Through this fund, we will provide awards of up to $50,000 each to open source technology projects which are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic in some way. As part of the COVID-19 Solutions Fund, we will accept applications that are hardware (e.g., an open source ventilator), software (e.g., a platform that connects hospitals with people who have 3D printers who can print parts for that open source ventilator), as well as software that solves for secondary effects of COVID-19 (e.g., a browser plugin that combats COVID related misinformation).

Objetivo: O Instituto Serrapilheira recebe projetos de podcasts brasileiros que tenham entre seus objetivos principais contar boas histórias nas quais a ciência e o método científico estão presentes. Buscamos propostas de candidatos que desejem contribuir para a profissionalização da produção de podcasts no Brasil, bem como para o fortalecimento do papel da ciência na construção do debate público e da cultura brasileira.  Serão selecionados até 8 projetos, que receberão até 50 mil reais de financiamento e participarão de um programa de treinamento.
