Objetivo: To support impactful projects that – through education or storytelling – seek to increase understanding of and acceptance of migrants and migrant communities. Types of human migrations include (but are not limited to) nomadic communities, refugees of all kinds, migrant labor, victims of human trafficking, and people exploring the planet and beyond. Priority will be given to projects that aim to do one or more of the following through education or storytelling: document the causes and effects of one or more examples of present-day human migration; document the lives of present-day migrants, their journeys, and receiving communities; develop and test out classroom resources, curricula, or public outreach materials that aim to increase understanding of the migrant experience and acceptance of  migrant communities.

Objetivo: The Sigma Xi Grants-in-Aid of Research GIARlogo(GIAR) program has provided undergraduate and graduate students with valuable educational experiences since 1922. By encouraging close working relationships between students and mentors, the program promotes scientific excellence and achievement through hands-on learning. The program awards grants of up to $1,000 to students from all areas of the sciences and engineering. Designated funds from the National Academy of Sciences allow for grants of up to $5,000 for astronomy research and $2,500 for vision related research. Students use the funding to pay for travel expenses to and from a research site, or for purchase of non-standard laboratory equipment necessary to complete a specific research project.

Objetivo: Jack Kimmel grants provide much needed funding to arboriculture and urban forestry researchers all over the world. These grants are available to researchers whose work is primarily outside of the United States. Projects are expected to be completed within one to two years. Grant award amounts are limited to a maximum of $10,000 and will vary depending upon the adjudged value of the project relative to the needs of the arboriculture community

Objetivo: This grant is awarded a maximum of $25,000 per year up to two years’ duration, the maximum total award being $50,000. These grant applications may be in any area of spinal deformity research, although an additional funding source for grants focusing on the etiology of scoliosis is available in conjunction with the Cotrel Foundation. These grant applications require evidence that the investigator has the experience and resources to complete the proposed research. As such, preliminary data is generally required.
