Objetivo: Cientists and scholars from all non-European countries, who completed their doctorates less than 18 years ago, who are internationally recognised for their achievements in the field of applied research, and who in future are expected to continue producing cutting-edge achievements which will have a seminal influence on their discipline beyond their immediate field of work, are eligible to be nominated for a Fraunhofer-Bessel Research Award.

Objetivo: The Research Group Linkage Programme is an alumni support tool, combining various activities, designed to establish a sustainable basis for long-term international academic collaboration between alumni of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation programmes abroad and academics in Germany. Such cooperations should also integrate (doctoral and post-doctoral) junior researchers as potential candidates for a research fellowship of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

Objetivo: Applicants’ research for either of the Pantzer awards must be within the field of the bibliographical or book-historical study of the printed book in the hand-press period, that is up to c.1830. Applicants should be established scholars in the field but may be university-based or independent researchers. The Pantzer Fellowship is intended to assist with both immediate research needs, such as microfilms or travelling expenses, and longer-term support, for example prolonged visits to libraries and archives.

Objetivo: Founded in 1892, the Bibliographical Society is the senior learned society dealing with the study of the book and its history. The Society offers a limited number of minor grants, of £50 to £200, for specific purposes such as the costs of travel or of microfilming for research purposes (but not for attendance at, or travel to, conferences). Applications for these minor grants may be submitted at any time and should be supported by one reference.
