Objetivo: To recognize and encourage creative work in the chemistry of materials. The award consists of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed. A nominee must have made outstanding contributions to the chemistry of materials. Particular emphasis will be placed on research relating to materials of actual or potential technological importance, where a fundamental understanding of the chemistry associated with materials preparation, processing, or use is critical.

Objetivo: The Denver X-ray Conference Organizing Committee established the Jenkins Award in 2001 to recognize scientists who exhibit lifetime achievement in the advancement of the use of X-rays in materials analysis. This award is named in honor of Dr. Ron Jenkins for his career of dedication to the advancement of analytical X-rays, characterized by his diverse roles as practical analyst, applications specialist, author of landmark texts, educator, Executive Director of the ICDD, and member of the Denver X-ray Conference Organizing Committee.
