Objetivo: The J. Gonda Fund Foundation supports students, researchers and publishers involved in the study of Sanskrit, other classical Indian languages, and Indian literature and cultural history. Since 1992, the Foundation has funded projects, fellowships and scholarly publications and re-issues of existing works. It also organises and publishes the annual Gonda Lecture. The Foundation’s assets consist of the estate of Indologist Jan Gonda, who was a member of the Academy.

Objetivo: Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection offers One-Month Research Awards of $3,000 to scholars holding the PhD or other relevant terminal degree (e.g., MLA for Garden and Landscape studies applicants) and working on research projects in Byzantine studies, Pre-Columbian studies, Garden and Landscape studies, or related fields.

Objetivo: To support impactful projects that – through education or storytelling – seek to increase understanding of and acceptance of migrants and migrant communities. Types of human migrations include (but are not limited to) nomadic communities, refugees of all kinds, migrant labor, victims of human trafficking, and people exploring the planet and beyond. Priority will be given to projects that aim to do one or more of the following through education or storytelling: document the causes and effects of one or more examples of present-day human migration; document the lives of present-day migrants, their journeys, and receiving communities; develop and test out classroom resources, curricula, or public outreach materials that aim to increase understanding of the migrant experience and acceptance of  migrant communities.

Objetivo: L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest is an opportunity for new writers of science fiction and fantasy to have their work judged by some of the masters in the field and discovered by a wide audience. Entries in the Writers of the Future Contest are adjudicated only by professional writers. Prizes of $1000, $750 and $500 are awarded every three months. From the four quarterly 1st Place winners each year, a panel of judges select one story as the grand prize winner. The writer of the grand-prize-winning story receives the L. Ron Hubbard Golden Pen Award and an additional $5000 cash prize.

Também congregamos na presente edição o I Encontro Iberoamericano de Estudos Nórdicos, que pretende alargar as possibilidades de intercâmbio das pesquisas para o mundo de fala espanhola e portuguesa, ampliando as repercussões acadêmicas da Escandinavística brasileira para um patamar internacional.
