IRSF announces the availability of Basic Research Grant Program for international biomedical research to promote the understanding of MeCP2 in the pathogenesis of the neurobehavioral phenotype of Rett syndrome (RTT). It seeks to gain a better understanding of the underlying pathology of the disorder leading to an amelioration of the symptoms and a cure for RTT.
The research grant awards are meant to:
1. Provide seed money for research that encompasses innovative therapeutic approaches and cutting-edge diagnostic techniques;
2. Design to assist investigators establish careers in fields relevant to Rett syndrome research;
3. Lead to follow-on funding from other agencies.
